Augmedics is a newcomer to the medical industry, disrupting the field as the developer of the first augmented reality guidance system for spinal surgery. The goal of the Xvision packaging was creating a fresh brand look that will stand out amongst the typical medical device appearance. 

Change is often not easily accepted and this sentiment is only amplified in the medical field where doctors must very carefully consider adapting new technology and techniques. I found this to be the biggest limitation for the design, as the packaging must represent the impactful change while being given a fair chance to enter the industry.

Using warm tones of purple and orange ensures the product will stand out amongst the typical blue tones and simultaneously give medical professionals a feeling of trust and ease of use. The gradients and smooth, curved lines work to convey the seamless transition Augmedics is making in the industry. The shape of the spine effortlessly contributes to the idea that Augmedics is the “wave of the future.”
