Industries for the Blind

The mission of Industries for the Blind Solutions (IFB) is to create opportunities and provide independence for people who are blind or visually impaired. A Brighter Path Foundation is the nonprofit supporting entity of IFB, funding innovative programs for the blind and visually impaired. Each year, the “After Dark Gala” gathers Winston Salem innovators and sponsors to raise money for the two organizations. 

The 11th annual gala spy theme allowed attendees to interact with assistive technology and Braille to decode messages and enter raffles. Fostering excitement and generosity through the invitations was necessary to ensure a significant turnout. 

Evoking a 1960’s secret agent, mission impossible vibe, the invitation was mailed in a “confidential” string tied manilla envelope. Inside was a telegram with details and ticket information, a ration book RSVP card for donations and an agent profile of key participants at the event. Typography was crucial to the 1960’s authenticity.
